What is this? (#2)

Alright, I realize that the What is this? series will never become a series until there are at least two entries, so here is number two.

What is this?

What is this?

I’m not going to say much about this picture here except that it is not a self-portrait. As before, if you have any guess to make whatsoever, please post a comment. Or even an observation that might lead others toward a guess. The more, the merrier.

I look forward to seeing who figures it out.

It looks to me like something from the plant world, but not something I’d expect to find in Sweden in March. Kenya, maybe, or Hawaii. But not Sweden.

I feel like I have a title to defend, being the first non-European to guess the first one…but other than a vague sense that it might be full of chocolaty goodness…I got nothing.

I’m with Laura on the chocolate. Swedish chocolate balls would have coconut on them, though, wouldn’t they?

Passionfruit?

Alex, I told you to stop calling me passionfruit.

All kidding aside, DING DING DING! That was right. Alex is the official winner, though I happen to know that Calin had already figured it out.

The picture is a rather close-up photo of a very ripe passionfruit, the purple kind (there is also a yellow kind). If people were unable to guess, I was going to hint that the time of the year was a very indirect clue, but it appears that was not needed.

Next time I may give something a bit harder…

I was going to say chocolate, but I have a feeling that I’m a few weeks late on this thing. That, and the answer has already been figured out.
